Flood support for DVA clients

Services are available to help DVA clients affected by the flooding across Eastern Australia.
  • Insurance claims through Defence Service Homes Insurance – contact 1300 552 662
If you are eligible, and have not lodged an insurance claim, we invite you to do so. Should you have difficulty in phoning us you can send an email to insurance@dva.gov.au . Please provide you name, policy number (if available) and brief details of the damage. One of our claims advisers will call you as soon as possible.
  • Veterans’ Affairs Network (VAN) offices for local support – contact 1300 55 1918
  • Counselling support through VVCS–Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service 1800 011 046 (24-hours a day)
To access usual DVA payments and services – contact 133 254 or 1800 555 254 (regional callers) to discuss your circumstances.
We appreciate your patience during this time as we endeavour to return to normal operations in Brisbane as soon as possible.
An Australian Government disaster recovery payment is available to eligible residents in Queensland. Further assistance and information is also available through Disaster Relief and Recovery QLD, Emergency Management NSW and the Victorian Government.
