To be continued... (Last update Sun, 19 Jun 11)
"We must look after our "Diggers" in their old age who fought for our freedom in their young life. Boys and girls who became men and women overnight some of them robbed of enjoying their teenage years during those times"...
Quote from Wendy J. Seymour on FB when forwarding the DVA Link about Flood Support for DVA clients. Need to insert the date...
As a Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Military Compensation Rehabilitation Scheme (MCRS) billing client myself, with injuries sustained during my full time and part service with the Australian Army. I take great pleasure in forwarding the latest information to my contacts in the ADF and the wide yonder about what DVA has to offer. I suppose my passion for supporting our WWII veterans steams from coming from a country like PNG growing up with war relics around me and hearing millions of stories about the war in PNG, and then end up serving in the ADF both as a service and civilian personnel - was a huge chapter in my working life. I grew up with stories about my forebears the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels to the Australian Diggers and other miscellaneous war stories. There are so many stories out there that are endless especially about the World's War Histories, will it ever end? I truly respect and admire all that our great grandfathers, mothers, uncles and aunts, (whatever the relationship) sacrificed for us during the World Wars and other conflicts. The ones that have lived through it all 'Age has wearied them and the years condemned' and we must ensure their legacy lives on.
I will be inserting in my Pages my personal experience with the Military Compensation Rehabilitation Scheme (MSRS) especially from an ADF Reservists point of view from full time service back to reserve service. Mine is one such case that had slipped through the administration cracks big time. I am able to discuss this openly as they are my medical history (not other peoples) and I hope no other ADF personnel whether full time or reservist ever go through what I went through. All the information will be on the MCRS page to the right in the near future.
Those of you want to read about the acronyms I have used in here please refer to my POST links to my right to assist you with their meanings. I do not see the point in repeating myself all the time and also this link is specifically for current and ex military service personnel who might want to know.
